Planet Hollywood in Myrtle Beach was demolished exactly 2 months later on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The restaurant announced in September that it would not renew its existing lease off of 29th Avenue North, across from Broadway at the Beach, and would close.
Amy Sadowsky, with Planet Hollywood International, released a statement on behalf of the restaurant at that time.
Here is the statement in its entirety:
"After almost 19 years in the community, Planet Hollywood has opted not to renew the lease for its Myrtle Beach location, which remained operational through Labor Day weekend. The company is pursuing other opportunities for the legendary franchise while focusing on the global development and expansion of Planet Hollywood Resorts International."
